Nanyang Technological University Alumni Association Hong Kong (NTU AA HK)
Nanyang Technopreneurship Center
Nanyang Technopreneurship Center (NTC) was established in January 2001 with seed funding from the Economic Development Board (EDB), Singapore. A multi-disciplinary university-level centre, NTC was created to be the focal point of technopreneurship development within the University and the region, where creativity and entrepreneurship leads to the creation of new business ventures that will provide the new engine of growth for Singapore. It is committed to fostering, promoting and nurturing a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship endeavours through technology entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship development initiatives.
NTC equips its students with the requisite knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship competence through the Master of Science in Technopreneurship and Innovation Program (MSc TIP) for postgraduates, the Minor in Entrepreneurship Program (MiE) for undergraduates, the Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) for executives, as well as several national and campus wide events and activities held year round, such as the Chua Thian Poh Annual Distinguished Speaker Series, the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Festival and ideasinc. Business Challenge.
As part of its mission to deliver a holistic entrepreneurship education, NTC encourages passion as a key motivator for dreams to be realised; inculcates an entrepreneurial mindset to initiate innovative changes wherever possible; harnesses technology as an enabling tool for learning and business; and stresses the importance of developing responsible and ethical entrepreneurs who are committed to using their entrepreneurial expertise and resources to bring about significant economic and social development in the communities in which they operate. Entire communities stand to benefit over the long term when livelihoods and lives are uplifted in this way, and this in essence, the ethos of the NTC’s philosophy in inspiring and developing entrepreneurs with the heart, will and capability to make a positive and meaningful difference to society.
